jabber-muc software package provides Multi User Conference component for the Jabber IM server, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jabber-muc
jabber-muc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jabber-muc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jabber-muc *
You will get with jabber-muc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
